What is the European Coalition for Community Living?
The European Coalition for Community Living is a Europe-wide cross disability initiative working towards the social inclusion of people with disabilities by promoting the provision of comprehensive, quality community-based services as an alternative to institutionalisation. Since 2008, ECCL has been hosted by the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL).
How can we support you?
ENIL, working with Nic Crosby (GatherBuildWork), has planned a number of activities for 2018. We will be:
- Setting out a programme of monthly webinars sharing practical work from across Europe and further afield around deinstitutionalisation and community living;
- Revising and updating this website to make it a source of material and contacts, all related to deinstitutionalisation and developing community-based support for people with disabilities;
- Circulating a monthly newsletter linked to each webinar, which will include news, offers of support and requests for help, resources and other useful information.
We will start with a series of monthly webinars (held on the last Friday of each month) on different aspects of the process of deinstitutionalisation. After each webinar and as part of our newsletter, we will share presentations and a link to a recording of the webinar.
Previous webinar recordings are available on ENIL’s You Tube channel.
